Why do they fight?
My soul cried in vain
How do I hide my fright?

Sometimes I wish they would bring light
Everyone has embraced pain
Why do they fight?

Many have suffered from sleepless night
afraid to see the soldiers gain
How do I hide my fright?

What can we do, what is our plight?
My heart is broken in twain
Why do they fight?

Just when I ponder if they are right
They lost their heart and brain

Countless innocents strive with might
Sorrow is filled like a train

Author's note:
A Villanelle is a nineteen-line poem consisting of a very specific rhyming scheme:
aba aba aba aba aba abaa.

The first and the third lines in the first stanza are repeated in alternating order throughout the
poem, and appear together in the last couplet (last two lines).

A blazing regret haunted me for years
Like a river of guilt pushed me to tears
Relinquished with solace, I'm left behind

I Wish Families Are Forever

A silent small voice whispers my heart
“Families are forever” don’t you know?
I am surprised to know but loved to feel
‘Cause I have a family here to me so dear.

A family that loves, understands, and cares
Will you not miss if anyone bids farewell?
I wish love won’t just end in every grave
If it does, I will ask God why He creates love.

It is a solace to me knowing that someday
We will meet at Jesus feet with a family
“Welcome home, my son, my daughter!”
“I miss you too my mother, my father!”

A tender soft voice knocks in my heart
“Prepare your family and now is the time.”
I am excited to respond but love to hearken
I wish families would mean to last forever.

ARE YOU HAPPY?

“Happiness is not easy to find
But it’s not possible to find it elsewhere.”
That is what Agnes Repplier has said.
How do you find happiness within?

For me, “Happiness is a precious gift.”
Wherein it abides in us only if we permit
Be it known that our reason for existence
Is to have joy and all are fruits thereof.

Happiness is like a fragile white glass
As sweet as a new blossoming rose,
A sure feeling of tranquility and serenity
It is out of reach to most but a treasure to a few.

Are you happy? Don’t deceive yourself
Face your mirror and you’ll find an answer
Ask your heart and the beats of it will tell
Look into your eyes, the truth will set forth.

An inspiring song, “Count Your Blessings”
Says, ‘When you are discouraged thinking
All is lost, count your many blessings and
See what God has done.’ Isn’t it so great?

If you’re feeling down and lonely today
Sing with gladness and remember this song
Every doubt will fly and you’ll be fine
Happiness is restored and makes you whole.

Are you happy? Don’t answer it quickly
Ponder, meditate, and discover who you are,
What makes you happy is what matters most
For happiness can wait ‘til you’re ready.
